Preparing the Way

(Isaiah 40:3; Mark 1:2-3)

“...I will send my messenger ahead of you, who will prepare your way.”

First Baptist Church of Alexandria is an expanding, vibrant community of faith rooted in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

God has blessed us with rapid growth, but to continue to invest in our future more space will soon be needed. Prayerfully and on faith, we are undertaking a building campaign to prepare the way for current and future generations for years to come.

Our existing sanctuary is 60 years old and must be renovated, adding needed seating and modernization of our audio-visual capabilities, lighting and handicap access. We are committed to keeping the traditional look-and-feel of FBCA and its services.

The renovations will allow for more gathering space, additional classrooms and educational room and an improved worship experience.

The project is expected to cost $12.5 million, with 75% coming from a capital campaign and 25% coming from the general fund.  The church has $1.5 million on hand to start; the estimated fundraising goal is $8.5 million in two phases, $5 million the next 3 years, a year off, then $3.5 million in the next 3 years.

But in order to make our vision a reality, we’re asking for your help. A church is more than the building, but this new space and capital campaign will allow FBCA to expand our reach into our city, our nation and our world and prepare the way to share the Gospel near and far.

"Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see." Hebrews 11:1
